The day before my Father's 70th birthday I went shopping for cards. A hate how impersonal those long ones can be and how it's almost impossible to find the right image with the perfect saying. I ended up buying a Father's Day card instead.

On it, was a picture of a cartoon man nailing the moon in the sky. I began to think of how my parent's have supported me and my dreams my entire life and wrote inside:

Thank you for hanging the moon, so I could paint the sky.

This then turned into lyrics for the bridge of my new song, Home:

You hung the moon, and let me paint the sky.

Those lyrics stuck with me and I have decided to share them with you in more ways than one. To me, this phrase reminds me to stop and take a moment, no matter what it going on around me, and appreciate everyone who has brought me to where I am today. I will be selling these THANK YOU cards at concerts in hopes that you might give one to someone who has made a difference in your life.
